Course Description

First semester of freshman chemistry for students in science, engineering, or medicine. An introduction to the principles of chemistry, including the study of metals, nonmetals, compounds, chemical formulas and equations, stoichiometry, gas laws, atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermochemistry, periodic properties and trends and the electrolytic behavior of solutions. Laboratory emphasis on the quantitative approach.

MATH 1314 or equivalent (may also be taken concurrently)
