Course Description

TRANSITION TO PROFESSIONAL NURSING COMPETENCIES (0-4-1) 51.3801 Transition to professional nursing competencies in the care of patients throughout lifespan. Validates proficiency in psychomotor skills and clinical reasoning in the performance of nursing procedures related to the concepts of: clinical judgment, comfort, elimination, fluid and electrolytes, nutrition, gas exchange, safety, functional ability, immunity, metabolism, mobility, and tissue integrity. Includes health assessment and medication administration. This course lends itself to a concept-based approach. Preqrequisites: Admission to Transition Program, BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, ENGL 1301 and PSYC 2301. Corequisite/Concurrent: SPCH 1311 or SPCH 1315 or SPCH 1321, RNSG 1128 and RNSG 1324. Assessment Levels: R3, E3, M3.
