Corporate Services: Training Grant Procurements
Del Mar College proudly partners with Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and other funding sources on various grant-funded programs to strengthen workforce skills by partnering with eligible Coastal Bend businesses and industry partners and providing training at no cost.
Grant Programs primarily focus on developing the skills of employees in high demand occupations, which may include the following:
- Skills Development Fund – a customized training solution to upskill the employees of eligible business and industry partners
- Apprenticeship Grants – supports the earn & learn model where on-the-job training is combined with classroom instruction
- JET Grant Program – funding to purchase and install equipment to support CTE programs in high-demand occupations
- Susan Harwood OSHA Grant - train workers and employers on occupational safety and health hazards with an approved OSHA selected training topic
- Texas Mutual Safety Grant – supports workplace safety courses for community employees, workers, and the general public.
Workforce Programs: Texas Mutual Safety Training Grant
Texas Mutual Insurance Company awarded $100,000 grant to fund Del Mar College’s (DMC) Safety Institute and other training initiatives focused on workforce development and safety. The College’s programs provide workplace safety courses for community employers, workers, and the general public.
