Course Description

A study of the principles of molecular and classical genetics and the function and transmission of hereditary material. Includes studies of the following topics: Mendelian Patterns of Inheritance, Molecular Genetics (including nucleic acid structure, replication and protein synthesis, gene and chromosomal mutations, gene expression, regulations of gene activity, genetic engineering, recombinant DNA and biotechnology) and Population Genetics. Recommended for students majoring in the biological sciences and related disciplines.

BIOL 1407, CHEM 1412, or their equivalents, or instructor's permission
