Course Description

STSC 0101. STUDENT SUCCESS (1-0-1) Psychology of learning and success. Examines factors that underlie learning, success, and personal development in higher education. Topics covered include information processing, memory, strategic learning, self-regulation, goal setting, motivation, educational and career planning, and learning styles. Techniques of study such as time management, listening and note taking, text marking, library and research skills, preparing for examinations, and utilizing learning resources are covered. Includes courses in college orientation and development of students' academic skills that apply to all disciplines. Recommended for all students. Required for any student enrolled in the lowest level of developmental education unless a student has 12 college credit hours with a 2.0 GPA. Assessment Levels: R1 and E1. 32.0101.5212
